Andrew Moses Lester (American/Oklahoma, 1914-2000) “Red Knolls, Ariz - Gila Valley”, circa 1960’s (undated but purchased with a similar signed piece dated 1967), watercolor on Arches paper. Signed lower left. Titled verso in pencil. Unframed. Measures about 22.25in x 15in. Condition: some very faint toning at edges noticeable only under great scrutiny. Otherwise excellent. Bio: Andrew Moses Lester was born November 14, 1914, in his grandfather's sod house in Cheyenne, Oklahoma Territory. Lester studied ceramics at the University of Oklahoma under John Frank, founder of Frankhoma Pottery and he completed his bachelor of arts degree at Oklahoma A&M in 1940.
