Leonard Frank Skeats (United Kingdom, 1874 - 1943) English genre painting on canvas depicting an officer consoling a grieving woman seated at the dining table with her mother. Circa 1st quarter 20th century. Signed lower right in red. Framed in gilt wood frame. Measures 31.5in x 27.5in x 3.5in depth framed and 19.5in x 15.5in image only. Condition: light craquelure to right side typical of age, painting would brighten up considerably with a professional cleaning.
