Kurt Polter (German/American, 1914 - 1987) Impressionist oil painting on canvas, untitled, circa 1980, depicts a table in an open room set with a vase of flowers and bowl of fruit and overlooking the ocean in the distance. Signed lower right, framed in wood frame with linen matting. Measures 36.5in x 30.5in framed and 29.5in x 23.5in image only. Condition: Painting in excellent condition, frame has a few minor nicks/chips, linen matting has some stains as well. If you are going to reframe we could remove this from the frame for you and save you some money on the shipping. Please inquire. Biography: Polter was born in 1914 in Kassel, Germany. His parents owned the world famous Kassel Hotel. But rather than enter the family business he enrolled in the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris where he studing for eight years under Yves Braye. The artist’s work was held in the collections of many of his contemporary luminaries including Merle Oberon, Charlton Heston, William Wyler, Esther Williams, Princess Paula de Liege, Peter Ustinov, Prince Moulay Abdoula, Mrs. John Winslow, Contessa B'Miani, among others .
