Lars Birger Sponberg (Illinois, 1919 - 2018), oil painting on artist’s board depicting a tender moment between a mother and her daughter. Both women seem reflective and hold each other tenderly. Circa 1960’s. Signed lower right. Purchased directly from the estate of the artist. Framed in period wood frame. Measures 46in x 33in framed and 39.5in x 26.5in image only. Condition: Painting in excellent vintage condition, frame has worn and chipping finish. If you do not require the frame we should be able to adjust the shipping cost down fairly significantly. Sponberg emigrated to the U.S. in 1930, graduated from Evanston High School and earned a scholarship to the School of the Art Institute Chicago. His work has been included in the US Embassies, Art in Embassies Program in Tbilisi, Georgia and Azerbaijan, and in private and corporate collections throughout the US. He was a devoted teacher of painting for over 30 years at Deer Path Art League and North Park College's cont. ed. program.
