Pair Greco-Roman Neoclassical Revival Gilt Bronze Lamps Nude Male Figures Masks

$1,495.00

Shipping to United States: $82.85

Pair Greco-Roman Neo-Classical Revival bronze oil lamps on black marble and wooden plinths. Bas-relief decoration depicting on one side a nude (except for animal skin cape) man pouring wine or oil into a dish, the other side shows a bearded nude man (except for the cape, this one with a tail) playing a harp or lyre. On either side are gilt bronze figural masks. Lamps have double sockets with pull chains. These could be reworked to eliminate the wooden base so they would be shorter and have only the black marble base if that is more in line with your decor. Measures about 36.5in to top of finial and 19in to top of bronze portion. They have telescoping necks so you could add a few inches to the height if that is desirable. Measures about 9in wide at widest point. Condition: small crack in the metal “cap” of one of the urns, it is cosmetic and does not affect the structural integrity of the lamp. Additionally there are some minor chips to the edges of the marble, and a few minor scratches to the bronze noticeable under scrutiny.
