Emile Louis Picault (French, 1833 - 1915) “The Whaler”, bronze sculpture, circa 1890, signed in cast and numbered 8595, additionally marked with Parisian foundry mark having figure of a small dog. Seated on bronze plinth which allows this figure to rotate without lifting off the table. This sculpture retains the original harpoon tip which is often missing in other examples. Measures 32in height. Condition: Excellent vintage condition, there are some dents to the base that the bronze sits atop but the bronze itself is excellent.
