Cool Mid-century Modernist brooch concave geometric shape with a moonstone sphere at one end. Marked on back La Vista for Idella la Vista (Amercian, 1920-1999). La Vista owned a shop in Manhattan in the 1950s located at 44 West 54th Street. In addition to her jewelry she also sold sculptures, ceramics, lamps and other home decor. Marbeth Schon's book has a biography of this artist. Her store was open at least until 1956. Her pieces seldom come to market and have the reputation of being of exceptional quality. Measures 2 ¼” long x ⅜” thick. Condition: Excellent vintage condition with original patina intact. You may like high polished jewelry in which case a little silver polish will brighten this right up.
