Benton Francis Scott (California, 1907 - 1983) “Paris ‘61”, oil painting on canvas, signed, titled and dated lower left. Old gallery label verso from Maxwell Galleries, San Francisco, CA. Framed in wood frame. Measures 17in x 15in framed and 12in x 10in image. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Bio: Benton Francis Scott was born in West Hollywood. He lived in Paris during the late 1940s and early 1950s where he studied (and exhibited) at the Academie Julien and the Academie de la Chaumier-Montparnasse. His exhibitions include: Salon des Independent (Paris 1949-50), Nat'l Academy of Design (San Francisco, CA. 1953), Oakland Muni. Art Gallery (Oakland, CA. 1953) and the San Francisco Museum of Art (1953).
