Zora DuVall Ethereal Portrait of Young Girl Vintage Midcentury Oil Painting

Zora DuVall (Illinois, 1927 - 2021) “Young Girl II” oil painting on board. Signed lower right, additionally signed and titled verso. This piece has an ethereal soft mood to it. Depicts a contemplative moment in the life of a young girl.Framed in wood frame with linen matting. Measures about 18in x16in framed and 9.5in x 7.5in image only. Condition: Excellent vintage condition. Biographical info: Duvall was born in Rovecin, Czechoslovakia. She received her B.A. in art at Coe College, Cedar Rapids, Iowa and her M.A. from the State University of Iowa.
She is a former member of the art faculty at both aforementioned institutions. For twenty three years she served as the curator of the Borg Warner Corporation art collection, having built it from the beginning up to a size of over 600 pieces.
She has participated in exhibitions at the Walker Art Center, Minneapolis; the Colorado Springs Art Center; the William Rockhill Nelson Gallery of the Atkins Museum in Kansas City; the Des Moines Art Center, Iowa; the Joslyn Museum, Omaha, Nebraska; SCADA (Springfield, Ill. Area Development Association); the Lakeview Art Museum, Peoria, IL, and others.
