Oil painting on canvas depicting Catherine the Great of Russia in her mature years posing with Catherine Palace in the background. No visible signature but well rendered. Framed in wood frame. From the estate of the former Ambassador to Canada under Reagan. Measures 53in x 43in framed and 38in x 28in sight. Condition: over soiling and discoloration of varnish, scattered areas of paint loss in background areas, canvas looks as though it was cut and rejoined across the top few inches. Frame is a solid old piece with many losses to the finish. All told a treasure worthy of restoring to it’s original glory. * Etsy does not have a local pick up option so we use the $999.99 shipping price as a placeholder.
