Haku Maki (Japanese, 1924-2000) “Poem 71-72”, color intaglio print, undated circa 1970, numbered 47 of an edition of 153. Numbered, titled and signed in pencil lower margin. Additionally signed with red chop mark. Framed in black wood frame, matted under glass. Measures 19.5in x 14.5in framed and 15.5in x 10.5in image only. Condition: Excellent vintage condition, some tiny spots of foxing (visible in the closeups). Maki exhibited in the Tokyo International Biennale of Prints starting in 1957 and continued throughout much of his lifetime. His works are represented in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art -NYC, Boston Museum of Fine Arts, Los Angeles County Museum, Art Institute of Chicago, Cleveland Museum of Art, Haifa Museum of Israel among others.
