Ben Klinefelter (American, b. 1955) Exceptional stoneware sculpture of enchanted treehouse. Mounted to lazy-susan turntable for easy rotation. Measures about 18.5in height x 15in width x 12in depth. Signed beneath front step in block letters. Condition: Excellent vintage condition, if you scrutinize hard enough you can probably find some minor chips at edges but nothing serious and nothing detracting. Every inch of this complex piece is an art discovery, you will find hidden masks, egyptian iconography, lizard, dragon, little spirit people hidden in the front torches, it goes on and on, it's absolutely captivating! You can add an electric light or votive candle to create an illuminated sculptuer. This is a one of a kind piece created and hand sculpted by artist Ben Klinefelter, and I believe this was one of his early pieces circa 1980’s when he was making these labor intensive fantasy works. Ben's work can be found in major galleries and Major Art Shows, his incredibly detailed work is highly sought after. I believe he's doing much more simplified work now and not these incredibly detailed pieces.
