Charming 19th century carved alabaster marble sculpture depicting a young boy holding a puppy under his arm while the mother tugs on his dress to get the pup back. Circa mid-19th century. Mounted to gilt wood plinth that was probably a lamp base at one time (there is a protrusion on the back side with a hole for a lamp post). Measures 14.5in height overall and 11.5in height marble sculpture only and 6.5in x 6.5in at base. Condition: chip to right knee cap, minor old chips to edges of base, some wear to top of gown on the backside. All minor defects and do not detract from the piece.
