Charming 19th century oil painting on canvas depicting a white kitten hiding inside the helmet from a antique suit of armor while a small dog or puppy inquires curiously. No visible signature but clearly the work of a talented hand as the rendering is very fine. Framed in gilt wood and gesso frame. Measures 30.5in x 26.75in framed and 23.25in 19.25in image only. Condition: Overall light craquelure, old dime-size repair to top left in the brown background area to the left of helmet.
