Condition: There is a firing crack on the side of one of the tiles that originated in the creation of the piece and is not damage from handling.
Born in Rodez, Anne Barres studied at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Montpellier and Bourges, where she was introduced to ceramics with Jean Lerat. The artist in her early days made wall panels in terracotta, stoneware and porcelain, the reliefs of which evoke textile fabric. Her earthen architecture is based on movement, deconstruction, sagging, always with an antagonism between hard and soft, cooked and raw.
Her works have been exhibited at the Museum of Decorative Arts in Paris, at the Center Georges Pompidou, at the Museum of Modern Art in Villeneuve in 2008, her work was the subject of a major retrospective in Rodez.
