Vintage cast plaster plaque depicting a gothic tower in front of a tall ship with a coat of arms at the bottom. The Bouwmeesterskring van West-Vlaanderen (BKW) was founded on April 10, 1910 in Bruges. The aim was, as with other architects' associations, to educate the members, to bring them into contact with each other and to defend their professional interests. Several district departments were active within the Circle: Bruges, Ieper-Diksmuide, Kortrijk, Ostend, Tielt-Roeselare, Veurne and a 'Mixed South West Flemish Department' for the Comines-Dottignies-Luingne-Mouscron area. Plaque is made of a cast plaster material with an embedded hanging wire on back. Signed in cast by artist lower left. Measures 19in x 15in. Condition: Large chip top left corner, minor edge chips.
