Frederick Elliott Hart (American, Washington D.C., 1943 - 1999) “Genesis”, 1988, silver gilt bronze sculpture, edition of 350. Signed, dated and numbered on underside “Hart 42/350, 1988, FEH/SGL”. Mounted on granite plinth. Measures about 12.25in x 10.25in x 8.75in height overall. Condition: light tarnish from age, excellent vintage condition.“Genesis” was inspired by The Creation Sculptures of the Washington National Cathedral. It portrays the sensual awakening of male and female into the full consciousness of their physical and spiritual selves. The figures are in an ever evolving state of being and becoming – the very definition of creation. The patina is soft, romantic, and uniquely captures the feeling of sensual and spiritual being and becoming. The original retail price of the sculpture was $18,000.
